I don't need to compromise my principles because they don't have the slightest bearing on what happens to me anyway. -- Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes
Just a quickie journal to update folks on how I'm doing with their requests... I swear I'll get these finished before summer's over...

And it looks like
1. I like weeding in the garden. There's something almost soothing and therapeutic in the job for me. The problem is that I like to do a VERY thorough job when I weed -- and have been known to accidentally pull up flowers and vegetable plants as well as weeds...
2. When I hear a song I like, I'll end up listening to it over and over until I have the lyrics memorized, then singing it repeatedly for the next few days. Then I'll drop that song and move on to another one to repeat the process. (I'll still go back and sing other songs from time to time -- and I have a LOT of songs memorized.)
3. Doors, drawers, and cupboards left open annoy me, and I usually end up shutting them as soon as I can. This tends to annoy other people, especially when they still have their hand in said drawer or cupboard trying to get something...
4. I've started taking Henkei Thundercracker with me whenever I travel. So far he's been to Portland three times (once when we visited in December, once when we visited in May, and once for Grandma's funeral) and California once. And since he was made in Japan and was briefly in Sweden before he ended up in my possession, he's probably my "most-traveled" Transformer toy.
5. I don't like Transformers: Animated, but I still really like Blitzwing for some reason... don't ask me why...
6. Despite being female, I've always had a tendancy to dress up as male characters for Halloween and conventions -- Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Thundercracker, Swoop, Spike Witwicky... And I've been mistaken for a guy on a couple occasions, including occasions when I wasn't even trying to dress up like a guy.
7. Ever since I was a little kid I've had strong obsessions and fixations with things -- part of it is my Asperger's, but part of it is it's just fun having an unusual hobby. Over the years I've been fixated with the Mario Brothers, Power Rangers, Carmen Sandiego, dragons, dolphins, the country of Australia, and Star Wars. Transformers is, of course, the current fixation... but who's to say how long it will last? (I still like dragons, dolphins, Australia, and Star Wars to some extent, just not as passionately as I used to.)
8. I hate wearing shorts, dresses, capris, or anything that shows my legs. I also hate tank tops and most swimsuits, to the point where I wear a T-shirt over my swimsuit when I go swimming. For some reason I just do not like baring my legs or my upper arms in public.
Not tagging anyone. Do if you feel like it.

Q: How many Transformers fans does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Eight. One to change it, and the rest to complain that the light bulb was so much better back in the 80s.
I support well-written, in-character fanfic!

The number of things we have in common on that list is just a little bit scary. 2,3,6,7,8 are all me.
2. I tend to remember a song's melody after hearing it just once, though I'll play songs over and over if I like them. Drives roommates nuts.
3. That annoys me as well, but more so because if there's one drawer/cupboard open, I'll manage to run into it somehow and add a few new bruises to my collection.
6. I've dressed up as Zorro, Batman, the Phantom (POTO) and never once that I can remember as a princess or anything girly. Until I grew my hair out to waist-length, I was mistaken for a guy on a very regular basis.
7. I tend to learn everything I possibly can about something and then move on. When I was little, it was whales. Now it's Star Wars and whatever book series I'm reading at the moment. Star Wars is sticking because there's so much to learn in that universe...
8. Hallelujah, I'm not the only person like this!! I wear pants year-round and am the first to put on a jacket in fall and the last to put it away in spring. Despite the fact that the swimsuit I have is quite modest, I still hate wearing it and tend to wear a T-shirt and shorts over it. Part of that is because I sunburn very easily, though. Still, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one, since it sure feels like it around here.
