I don't need to compromise my principles because they don't have the slightest bearing on what happens to me anyway. -- Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes

Argh...

Yeah, writing has ground to a complete standstill. I just... cannot manage to get anything written down. The ideas are there, it's just that when I sit down to write, I can't get my thoughts onto paper (or word processor, or what have you...). I desperately want to write, but I can't get inspired.

And yeah, you might have noticed that I've quit doing photocomics. Not sure if that's another case of a creativity slump or if I just don't have a desire to inflict my crappy photography and MS Paint skills on the world anymore. :P

I might try the "Ten Songs, Ten Stories" meme again to try and get the writing juices flowing again. If that doesn't help... does anyone have any suggestions for breaking a writer's block?

Also, life at home is still stressful. It's been ten months now since anyone at this house besides me has had a job, and now that my stepdad is going to be having surgery in a couple of weeks, it looks like he'll be jobless even longer. I am NOT looking forward to the holidays this year, which are stressful enough anyhow...

*sigh* When did I get so cynical anyhow?

 Things will work out in the end, I'm sure they will. As to writer's block, all I can say to that is just force your way through. Sit down and say, "I'm going to write a drabble about [insert a topic here]" and then do it. It might not be the best but it'll help trust me. :)

Doing the "ten songs, ten stories" meme is a good idea. Try small exercizes like that. Also, write everything first, THEN edit. Don't worry about what pieces go where, just write anything that comes to mind first, then go back and put the puzzle together.

I hope things work out for you. :iconlovehug:

Hang in there. If I could, I'd send your family enough jobs to go around. Try not to worry too much about the holidays: the Lord will provide.

Hm...writer's block. The 10 songs/10 stories isn't a bad idea. My other suggestions would be to let it rest for a while. Try a new hobby or something and let your literary muses have a break. Before you know it, the plot bunnies will return in full force.

The other idea? Watch/read the source material for whatever fandom you're working in. If it's Star Wars, re-watch some of the movies or read an EU book you haven't read yet. If it's TF, watch something from a different continuity than what you usually frequent. You just might stumble on something striking that sparks some inspiration.

Above all, however, don't try to force it. It will come back in it's own time. :)

The only experience I have which I could extrapolate from would be at work. If a particular instrument is giving me problems and I'm making no headway on it, I set it aside and either pick up a different sort of instrument or do something completely unrelated.

Why yes, I do offer commissions

I don´t know you but to me it seems like you are a person who likes writing too much to stop doing it so don´t worry.

How about trying a small project for a while? If you have a example of a good idea for a funny rule for the decepticon base I would be glad to add it to my list.

Q: How many Transformers fans does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Eight. One to change it, and the rest to complain that the light bulb was so much better back in the 80s.

I support well-written, in-character fanfic!

I'd have to think about that...

Maybe if I take a quick break on what I'm writing now to work on something else... that's a good idea. Thanks.
