"I'm home," I announced, stomping slush off my shoes as I walked into the house. "How was church?"
"Boring as always," my brother replied, not looking up from where he was playing World of Warcraft on his laptop. "How was saving the ponies?"
"...what?"
"Well, you were off universe-hopping, so I figured maybe you ended up with the My Little Ponies this year, since you like that show."
"Har har, kid." I rubbed my knuckles in his hair. "We went to Camelot, Cybertron, Bespin, and Coruscant. And Phantom's house."
"Fun. Did you bring me back a present?"
"Sorry kid, but the Dinobots are still out in the driveway if you wanna go say hi to them before they go home."
"Nah, I'm good. There's a church activity tonight at seven, can I get a ride?"
"Sure. I'm gonna go to my room and veg awhile. This trip took a lot out of me."
"See ya later."
Yeah, my family's not too surprised by my antics anymore... this was perhaps the most enthusiastic reaction I'd had to a Rabbit Hole Day yet. Maybe next year I'd drag my brother along for the ride or something. Especially if our adventures took us to Equestria -- I wanted to see his reaction to it.
Once in my room I tossed my coat and gloves on the bed, then sat down with a sigh. Going back to the normal world after a Rabbit Hole Day was always a letdown -- as exhausting as these adventures were, they were fun. Sometimes I wished our world wasn't so mundane and normal...
There was something hard in my pocket. Frowning, I reached in and pulled it out.
"Huh..." It was a small metal plate in the shape of a Decepticon symbol... only it was curiously split down the middle, so one half was red and the other violet. I flipped it over to find the opposite side was smooth and unmarked except for a set of glyphs, presumably in Cybertronian. Even as I studied them, though, the meaning of said glyphs became clear in my mind...
Next year...
I couldn't suppress a chuckle as I pocketed the symbol. It seemed Rabbit Hole Day wasn't done with me yet...

I can't help but thinking that it's a "hint hint" at the end about where you might go next year...and who might come along. Yay for tormenting, erm, I mean, spending time with brothers!
