I'm not dumb, I just have a command of thoroughly useless information. -- Calvin, The Days Are Just Packed
Only one song went unguessed on the song meme. Looks like my mix of music isn't as weird as I thought.
Looks like the first chapter of Trials of the Flesh was pretty well-received.
Next up is the next chapter of Glory and Honor, then another chapter of my Chromus story. Maybe I'll throw in a Lost and Found one-shot somewhere, I have an urge to write a little cute too...
So remember the movie A Monster In Paris I was raving about? I finally caved and bought a couple copies of it -- one for myself and one for the library. It hasn't had a US release, so I ended up buying it off Amazon's Canadian website and having it imported. And no, it wasn't too cheap, but I figured this would be the only way I'd be able to see it again, whenever I wanted, and to be able to share it with my family. My brother in particular is interested in seeing it, and even wants to show it to his French class at school.
Today, on a whim, I went to the regular Amazon website to go leave a review on the movie -- even if it was only the Region 2 version, I figured I could at least leave a good word on the film. And lo and behold, A Monster In Paris gets a US DVD release in April. Apparently Shout! Factory, the company that's handled the re-release of the various TF series on DVD (among other things), acquired the rights and is going to bring it stateside.
Well, crap.
Yes, still watching My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, if you couldn't tell from recent journal headers. What, I like this show.
Anyhow... I'm still plotting a possible Transformers/MLP crossover. At this point it looks like it'll involve characters from both Prime and Rescue Bots, but I'm still trying to decide which villain will be the major threat. As of the latest episode ("Keep Calm and Flutter On") Discord is no longer a villain, but I suppose that doesn't mean he can't relapse into his previous behavior. Chrysalis would be an appropriately creepy villain, and being a shapeshifter she'd have something in common with the TFs. Sombra... I liked him, even if he's not as popular with the fans, but he's similar enough to Megatron that he might not be the best choice.
And of course, there's also the possibility of Unicron showing up... Equestria's had to deal with one chaos being already, so why not another?
I'll see when the time comes to write this thing, I suppose... have a LOT of ideas to get out of the way first.
Have a new journal feature. Speaking of My Little Pony...
Art Feature -- Discord from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

He needs a good villain song to bump up his street cred.
And more importantly, I'd be really interested to see the issue of "science vs. magic". The TF's never had encounters with magic (not that I can remember anyway), and the ponies don't seem to have technology like TVs, computers, and such because magic takes care of it. Maybe as long as the ponies stay in the TF universe, their magic doesn't work? And conversely, if the TFs go to the pony-verse, there's no technology to help them, other than what they brought with them.
And that would be an interesting debate -- I never really brought it up in my TF/Harry Potter stories because those were more humor-based and silly. I dunno if one would call Dark Energon and the Relics magic, but that is a very good point...
